New releases and signings continued to stack up across sports. Arch Manning signed an exclusive deal with Topps; he already had an autograph slated for the next Bowman Football product. A preview of 2025-26 Topps Chrome Update Sapphire Basketball highlighted key autograph chases ahead of its launch. Panini detailed two fall products: the premium 2026 Par Three LIV Golf (three encased cards per box) and the first full WNBA Crown Royale release. Score’s Halloween-themed Score-A-Treat Multi-Sport returns with new SSPs and autographs, and Topps announced a 2026 Chrome Samurai Japan set, with promo cards featuring Shohei Ohtani, Ichiro (“Sensational Samurai”), Yoshinobu Yamamoto (“Samurai Spirit”), Munetaka Murakami (“Neon Nights”), and an autograph of Roki Sasaki.
At the top of the modern market, Karl-Anthony Towns purchased Aaron Judge’s 1/1 Gold Dual Logoman Auto for nearly $1 million. Vintage collectors had fresh research to chew on: a detailed look at 1887–89 “Baseball currency” notes for the Chicago White Stockings—3 3/8" by 7 3/4" pieces featuring A. G. Spalding’s portrait and his N28 Allen & Ginter image—cites roughly 45 known from 1887, 10 from 1888, and 40 from 1889, with ornate reverses. And in hobby history, Jim Palmer’s post–third Cy Young Topps extension reportedly came with a $75 bonus—an eye-opening snapshot of card economics in that era.
